I remember

I remember
when I was a kid
riding in the back
of the station wagon
telling my little brother
that I had the moon on a string
and I gave the string to him.

I still love you, brother.

I like it! But I’d not have guessed that you do free verse, given your love for the Victorian and earlier highly structured stuff.

  3. Thank you! It came to me during a cab ride home, seeing the moon, and how it travels along parallel as one drives along. I remembered that childhood episode again.

I’m not a big fan of free verse, you’re right. But it was out of my control at the time!
